1. Trash and recycle cans should be stored inside Ponds West residents' garages, except on trash pickup day.
2. The lid of your toter must be CLOSED for proper emptying. The toters are picked up by an automated truck which lifts the cart into the air and empties it into a hopper on top of the truck. If the lid is not sitting in the closed position, trash can easily end up on the street instead of in the truck.
3. Recycling carts (gray) should be at least 4 feet away from your blue trash toters. As with trash toters, the lid should be sitting in the closed position for proper emptying of the cart.
4. Heavy trash (items that will not fit into your trash toter) will be accepted; however, you must call 317-917-7300 in advance to arrange this pickup. There may be a charge for this service. Heavy trash pickup does not include Freon-containing appliances (refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers), automotive parts, and construction/demolition waste.
